Services

PrimeCraft makes precision parts in Bloomfield, Connecticut: any part that fits inside a 2.5 in (63.5 mm) cylinder, round or not. Turned parts, and milled parts with flats, slots, cross holes and off-center features, all made on our Citizen Swiss-type and Miyano twin-spindle lathes in a single setup. A part that never leaves its setup avoids the positioning errors that come with moving it between machines.

Milled parts on a lathe

Parts that look like mill work come off our lathes complete. Live tools with C-axis and Y-axis, plus B-axis and full 5-axis on our Swiss machine, cut flats, slots, cross holes and angled or off-center features in the same setup that turns the part. One setup and one datum hold position and concentricity, with less handling and lower cost.

Part diameter: 0.118 to 2.5 in

Volumes: 100 to 1,000,000+ pieces per program

Materials: aluminum, brass, stainless, titanium, Inconel and PEEK

Tolerances: ±0.0005 in routine, tighter by review

Surface finish: 32 microinch and better, straight off the machine

Quality: first article on our Zeiss CMM, mill certs and lot traceability

Machines: Citizen Cincom M32 Swiss-type, Miyano BNE-65MYY and BNJ-51SY6 twin-spindle, with up to three tools in the cut at once

Our story

Right out of high school, I went to work at Troy Industries, prototyping new designs for my dad, David. He’s a toolmaker and design engineer with more than 20 design patents, and a trade school graduate like me. He taught me that a degree isn’t everything.

I learned 3-axis programming by reading his programs, and anyone else’s I could find. Then came 4-axis cells, and then the Eurotech Trofeos: 11-axis mill/turn lathes where we never did any turning. Every part was 100% milled. That was my dad’s vision for Troy: move milled parts onto a lathe to drastically cut the cost and make every part consistent. He saw it as off-the-shelf automation, and that’s exactly what it became.

Next came Marubeni Citizen-Cincom, where I worked in applications, service, automation and, eventually, sales. MCC taught me everything on the machine side. Machine crashed and needs an alignment? Do it yourself. An alarm? Diagnose it and repair it. A big job that needs automating? Buy a robot and make it happen.

I started PrimeCraft in 2025. Owning a business is hard enough as it is, and what carries me is the root of everything I was taught: the only thing between impossible and possible is your willingness to make it reality. It’s why we finish milled features on the lathe, in one setup, the way my dad pictured it.

Who we are

PrimeCraft is a small CNC turning shop in Bloomfield, Connecticut, and both halves of the name mean something. Prime means first in importance, highest in quality and the most suitable for the job. To us, that means your job comes first, it gets our best work, and we aim to be the right shop for it. Craft means a close-knit team that makes every part with the personal attention only a small shop can give.

We make small, complex turned parts, including features most shops would send to a mill. Flats, slots, cross holes and off-center features are cut on the lathe in the same setup, which removes the re-fixturing, positioning and concentricity errors that extra setups bring, and with them most of the chances for a defect. We aim to beat the print on both tolerance and surface finish.

Good communication builds trust, so we keep you up to date at each key stage, from quote to shipment.

We value honesty, precision and long-term partnerships, and we are proud to be a Connecticut shop with competitive prices.

Reshoring precision manufacturing, one part at a time.
